Rental property’s external lighting requirement as of 1st July 2015

The landlord is now responsible to provide a minimum amount of security to their property. This includes but not limited to, requirement to have a porch light installed that can be switched from inside the house. Other items include door and window locks.

The minimum requirement is a light at the front or main entry able to illuminate this area, and be switched from inside the house or unit.

These requirements are different if part of a strata, then this is the obligation of the strata body to install and maintain.

At PRF Electrical we are completely aware of these requirements, and can easily install and/or maintain your property’s lighting.
